Street vendors: from left to right--pig blood cake, chicken nuggets, chinese sausage, & squid balls (don't know the bottom two). We only tried the squid balls, but ended up going back for seconds. not a fan of blood, nuggets, or sausage...
Dim Sum: I finally know what dim sum REALLY tastes like...yeah, I've been to a few places in San Diego and some highly acclaimed places in San Francisco, but the dim sum we had today at Cantonese at Brother Hotel was amazing! We had shrimp, pork, taro & calamari dumplings, pork buns (both steamed and flakey), turnip cake, cheese cabbage, shrimp in rice paper, chinese broccoli, seasoned pork, fried eggroll type thing with shrimp in the middle, and a sticky bun with pork inside. Horrible descriptions, but delicious food!

Fruit: even the fruit here is different! asian pear, watermelon, pineapple, guava, & lychee (okay, maybe it't not all that different, but this is the first time I have had lychee as a fruit, not just a boba flavor).
7/11: Never been so enthusiastic about a convenient store, but the snacks in here are not your average snacks. Case & point: tea eggs, endless variety of drinks (including watermelon milk & asparagus water) and chips (flavors ranging from seaweed to shrimp), and last but not least, Taiwanese slurpees!
Fries: I am aware that our whole house is infamous for our status as regulars at the Costa Verde McDonald's, which is why (1) I had to take a picture of a McDonald's in Taipei, and (2) we most definitely got fries on our first day in Taiwan.
WARNING: Don't be fooled by the fat and greasy man serving us our food, these fries were delicious...just a little bit sweet & the perfect temperature (we like it hot).
